Dr. Laura Grippa
Laura Grippa is an Emergency Medicine Physician practicing in the Baptist Health System in Jacksonville Florida, where she teaches medical students from LECOM during her shifts. She also has joined Center for Modern Aesthetic Medicine (CMA) and enjoys providing the latest in aesthetic and laser treatments for her patients. She is also a volunteer as the “Island doctor” at Cat Cay in the Bahamas where she provides primary and emergency care to the residents.
Laura Grippa earned her college degree in Biological Anthropology at Harvard University and went on to attend Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She then moved to sunny Jacksonville, Florida in 1998 and completed a 4 year residency in Emergency Medicine at University of Florida, Jacksonville.
Laura is the single mom, of three children Madeline(21), Juliet(19) and Grayson(17) and considers this her most important role and is thankful that her career and flexibility in Emergency Medicine allowed her to be present for them, in the way her parents Lorraine and Anthony Grippa were for her, growing up in Long Island New York.
In her free time, Laura enjoys all sports, yoga, napping and connecting with friends and family. She has no experience with dancing but has a curious spirit and is always looking to grow and challenge herself.
She is excited to participate in the second annual Dancing with the Doctors and to honor the spirit and memory of Maya Dronca as well as helping raise awareness and bring an end to childhood cancer.
